Ring Box at Selvage Winter Fair
The Selvedge Winter Fair begins on Sunday, and I am so pleased to be taking part. My grew from a simple belief: that making should honour both materials and process. Time-honoured techniques invite patience, precision and a deeper connection with the metal being made, and in the studio at Forge, I work across a small family of disciplines in the heart of Hatton Garden, mounting, setting, plating, polishing and all of them rooted in material honesty and small family business passing on skills to the next generation.
At the fair there will be a selection of woven textiles. By working with wool in the colours gifted by the sheep themselves—creams, charcoals, fawns and browns—we can pare everything back to its essence: texture, form and function. Each piece carries the quiet beauty of the land it comes from and the thoughtful process behind it.Everything you would expect from a Selvage Fair - who run the best winter fairs.
I’m really looking forward to meeting people who value craftsmanship, sustainability and the simple pleasure of well-made things. If you’re at the Winter Fair, do come and say hello—I’d love to share more about the work and the stories woven and hammered into every piece.
